Laboratory Technician

The Department of Translational Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated technician with a track record in the field of bioanalysis of small and large molecules. This is a 1 year temporary position with the possibility of permanent employment.
The department is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Copenhagen where you will be working as part of a team of 12 scientists and technicians. The position reports to an experienced scientist in the team.

Your job and key responsibilities

  • Supporting pre-clinical projects by performing high quality analysis of pre-clinical samples using LC-MS/MS
  • Develop and troubleshoot sensitive LC/MS/MS bioanalytical methods to quantify drugs and metabolites in biological matrices, as well as analyse pre-clinical samples for both small and large molecules
  • Participate in the testing, development and implementation of new mass spectrometry and chromatography equipment and technologies, e.g. LC/MS based methods for neurotransmitters, biomarkers and digested proteins
  • Set-up automated platforms related to bioanalysis and in vitro assays

Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:

  • Education as technician or similar with at least 5 years of working experience supporting research/pre-clinical projects
  • Experience with biological sample handling, such as plasma, brain and CSF from pre-clinical species
  • Solid hands-on experience within LC-MS and lab automation platforms (Hamilton robots) and its use in DMPK
  • Hands-on experience with in vitro ADME assays
  • Experienced user of Windows software and LC-MS software e.g. Analyst and/or MassLynx
  • Experienced user of liquid handling systems and programming
  • Awareness and understanding of the role of DMPK in Research & Development
  • A strong interest in neuroscience research
  • Systematic and quality minded
  • Efficient, goal oriented and independent work style with flexible mind-set
  • Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally, with colleagues, suppliers and other relevant parties
  • Fluent in oral and written English
