Associate Medical Advisor


Associate Medical Advisor

 Lundbeck Australia is looking for an experienced Associate Medical Advisor to join our Scientific Affairs team.  Reporting to the Medical Affairs Director, your role will provide medical and scientific support to external customers and internal stakeholders of Lundbeck’s marketed products, and compounds in development.  The medical advisor engages in scientific exchange with medical and scientific experts, including Key Opinion Leaders and other important decision makers consistent with overall company strategy and medical affairs.

Your job and key responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide expert advice to the medical information team for the provision of replies to medical inquiries received from internal and external customers.
  • Provide medical input to the Pharmacovigilance team.
  • Support and provide guidance to marketing activities. Is a strategic partner for the commercial team in setting the overall business strategy.
  • Act as a reference point for therapy area knowledge and competitor knowledge.
  • Provide internal training to the marketing, sales and medical teams as required.
  • Responsible for code compliance for all promotional materials under the guidance of the Medical Affairs Director.
  • Provide medical input for review of promotional and scientific documents (including for RA and PBAC submissions).
  • Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the overall Medical strategy plan
  • Responsible for IITs within therapy area.
  • Provides support to the field based MSL team with regards to KOL interactions with respect to the  management of Brand Advisory board meetings and the management of Brand-specific KOLs as well as the support of medical education initiatives that are undertaken with these experts.
  • Provides support for  international speaker tours that occur within therapeutic area.
  • Works with PA consultant to manage Patient Advocacy Groups.
  • Mainly office-based, but travel is required to facilitate some tasks.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we require prior experience in similar role within the pharmaceutical industry and hold  tertiary qualifications in Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinarian, Dentistry or Natural Sciences.  You will also need to have a strong flair for communication and education, be a team player who can work well with cross functional teams and who is a highly-motivated individual. And has the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation, including the ability to successfully build a network with international colleagues. You must be fluent in English and have an excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems and payer structures in Australia.
