Reimbursement Strategy Manager - Market Access

We are currently looking for a Reimbursement Strategy Manager lead the development, approval and execution of a vision and strategic plan that will ensure the successful pricing and reimbursement of Lundbeck’s existing and future products throughout Canada. This person will manage one or several employee(s) from the Market Access team.


Your Position:

Reimbursement strategy: (50%)

•Use solid market access experience, along with that of internal and external collaborators, to assess each product’s potential in order to develop a winning reimbursement strategy for each Lundbeck product assigned to you.
•Lead the development and implementation of tactics to drive formulary placement.
•Engage with national/provincial stakeholders as they relate to reimbursement strategies and act as field representative for public/private stakeholders in Quebec.
•Manage one (or several) employee(s): define annual objectives and ensure regular follow‑ups and feedback; complete employee's annual performance management process; propose development actions; ensure employee's continuous engagement.
•Assume the role of market access lead on each of the product brand teams assigned to you and collaborate closely with a cross functional team towards the implementation of the reimbursement strategy.
•Play a leading role in the development of the pricing strategy for Lundbeck products throughout the products life cycle.
•Oversee the implementation of the annual pricing review and semi annual reporting to the PMPRB and Quebec.
•Lead/oversee the development of reimbursement submissions to both public and private payers.
•Work closely with the market access team to ensure timely implementation of listing recommendations in the provinces and by private payers.

Government Relations and Stakeholder Management: (20%)

•Develop and maintain a thorough mapping of all stakeholders who are relevant for the market access strategy.
•Assume the role of field representative for public/private stakeholders in Quebec.
•On an as needed basis, meet with market access stakeholders in Quebec.
•Represent Lundbeck on IMC committee(s) and leverage the association’s influence with decision makers.
•Participate in industry and drug plan events to learn about the reimbursement environment and changing trends. Share the knowledge with Lundbeck colleagues.

Health Outcome: (20%)

•Determine the critical outcomes and research needs for each product and work with international and local colleagues to obtain the required evidence.
•Participate in advisory boards, symposia, and other regional/national professional meetings where relevant clinical and outcomes research are discussed.
•Work with the Medical Science Liaison team to educate patient organizations to ensure a good level of familiarity with our products so they can effectively participate in the HTA submission review process.
•Participate in industry and drug plan events to learn about the reimbursement environment and changing trends. Share the knowledge with Lundbeck colleagues.


Professional Development: (10%)

• Invest time and energy into self professional development while maintaining competencies. (5%)
• Support and follow up on your direct report’s competencies, knowledge and professional development. (5%)

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent. Masters preferred.
  • Extensive (≥ 10 years) experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry including a minimum of six (6) years of experience in Market Access.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical reimbursement and pricing issues, policies and trends and proven track record in obtaining public and private reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of Central Nervous System and/or Specialty products market (an asset).
  • Bilingualism (French & English), oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010.
  • Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate and develop complex strategy that results in action.
  • Strong portfolio management skills and ability to objectively frame analyze and resolve trade offs between projects
  • Strong ability to collaborate with people from all the varied departments .
