Senior Finance (Tax) Specialist


We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance (Tax) Specialist to join our Compliance and Reporting Team.

As Compliance and Reporting Senior Finance (Tax) Specialist you will be acting as an independent tax and finance specialist ensuring the high-quality Tax Reporting for locations in scope. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Acts as subject matter expert for tax related processes (where agreed, cooperate with local service provider/consultant in terms of local compliance),
  • Responsible for assuring appropriate data quality and correctness of source data used for tax reporting,
  • Ensures that all indirect tax related correction and adjustments are properly entered in the accounting system,
  • Preparation of monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or annual VAT returns as required by local legislation. Timely filing tax returns to the relevant Tax Authorities,
  • Intrastat, Sales and Purchase Lists, statistical reporting preparation and submission,
  • Responsibility for tax accounts reconciliation and reconciliations between various reporting in scope, payments preparation,
  • Provision of assistance to tax audits and reviews,
  • Assistance to other tax related processes e.g. Transfer Pricing,
  • Responsible for executing agreed internal controls, reporting incompliance and risks,
  • Responsible for developing, standarization and documenting business processes,
  • Proactively assist to identify any areas of improvement to help maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes. Cooridinates and leads the improvement initiatives, knowledge management,
  • Manages queries / service requests and escalates tax / finance risks,
  • Mentoring for Junior Specilaists and acting act back up.

Qualifications required:
Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of overall / combined tax and accounting experience, 
  • Practical experience with International VAT and with tax returns preparation,
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (Universtity degree, accounting or/and tax qualifications),
  • Fluent English (other foreign language is an advantage),
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and knowledge of SAP is an advantage,
  • Keen analytic, organization, attention to details and problem solving skills which allows for data interpretation,
  • Mature attitude towards challenges and problem solving - being able to work with limited guidance and able to determine information needed to resolve more complex issues,
  • Taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, including self-learning (e.g. tax updates)/researching needed to execute the same,
  • Willing to work in a dynamic environment with switching priorities.
