The Department of Discovery Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Scientist with a track record within the field of bioanalysis and pharmacokinetics for both small and large molecules to support discovery of new innovative therapies targeting psychiatric and neurological diseases.
The department is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Copenhagen and the position reports to the Director of Discovery DMPK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly qualified pharmaceutical scientists, working in an inspiring research environment, dedicated to delivery of high quality scientific data.

Your job and key responsibilities

  • Develop and troubleshoot highly sensitive LC/MS/MS bioanalytical methods to quantify drugs and metabolites in biological matrices, and analyse pre-clinical samples for both small and large molecules
  • Participate in the testing, development and implementation of new mass spectrometry and chromatography equipment and technologies, e.g. LC/MS based methods for neurotransmitters, biomarkers and proteins
  • In conjunction with DMPK project representatives, plan, design and report PK studies supporting Drug Discovery projects
  • Provide basic PK modelling expertise to preclinical projects using industry standard software (Phoenix WinNonlin)
  • Oversee outsourcing activities for DMPK studies

Qualifications
Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:

  • Relevant scientific degree or PhD
  • Minimum of 2 years’ industrial experience supporting research/preclinical projects
  • Awareness and understanding of the role of DMPK in Research & Development
  • Solid hands-on experience within LC-MS and lab automation and its use in DMPK
  • Solid hands-on experience within in vivo PK characterization and modelling
  • Demonstrated proficiency in pharmacokinetic software applications including WinNonlin/Phoenix.
  • A strong interest in neuroscience research
  • Efficient, goal oriented and independent work style with flexible mind-set
  • Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally, with colleagues, suppliers and other relevant parties
  • Fluent in oral and written English
