Lead Outsourcing Manager


Lead Outsourcing Manager, Department of Outsourcing Management, R&D Lundbeck Valby

We are looking for a Lead Outsourcing Manager (L-OM) in the Department of Outsourcing & Contracts Management R&D. The Department supports Lundbeck’s R&D organisation in negotiating all legal contracts as well as supplier management activities, where required, across all R&D functions. We collaborate broadly across the entire R&D organisation and act as a coordination and negotiation platform for Lundbeck’s Legal Departments, the suppliers used and the relevant Lundbeck teams. The Department is also involved in defining Lundbeck’s sourcing strategies, contributing to Lundbeck’s Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy and is responsible for pre-contract supplier and HCP/HCO/PO Fair Market evaluation and approval.
The position is located in Valby, Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Your job and key responsibilities
You play an important role in building efficient and professional working relationships and network through optimised processes with internal stakeholders across R&D as well as contributing with innovative solutions in an ever-changing environment through extensive knowledge sharing.
As L-OM you negotiate contracts across a variety of disciplines within R&D. You also take the initiative and lead on cost reduction/avoidance and issue resolution, where required. You also build relationships for the critical suppliers used. In relation hereto, you are responsible for maintaining supplier contractual documents and templates used in the Department. You are also expected to maintain own knowledge of the supplier market for all of the above-mentioned disciplines.
The job requires minor travelling.

Qualifications
Our preferred candidate:

  • Holds a University degree within a relevant area (e.g. Life Science, Business, Legal or equivalent) and has either:Has experience in – or is motivated to learn – negotiation of legal terms
    • at least 2 years working experience in an outsourcing or sourcing function – preferably within Pharmaceutical R&D or a similar organisation (e.g. CRO/Laboratory etc.) or
    • at least 2 years of previous experience in the outsourcing disciplines for either Clinical or Health Economics and Outcomes Research/Real World Evidence activities through Contract Research Organisations (CROs) or laboratories
  • Has strong analytical and problem solving skills ensuring attention to detail and highest level of accuracy within required timeframe
  • Has a high level of customer focus and proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout all levels of an organization
  • Is a team player with drive but also able to work wholly independently with assigned tasks.
  • Is motivated by a fast-paced environment and has the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage complexities and ever-changing priorities in a structured and orderly fashion
  • Has high-level English communication skills, both verbal and written, preferably on a negotiation level
